Hi Guys,

Got two final examinations for my graduate nutrition and dietetics classes this week so I'll be swamped b between juggling that and work. Sorry guys, I gotta get those good grades and study hard if I want to, one day, become a good clinical dietitian =).

I'll be sure to answer questions and write more articles the next day (this Friday).

AFRAID ABOUT THE SATURATION DOSE IN THE FIRST 10 DAYS?

A loyal reader of mine expressed the same concern about taking too much Vitamin A in the form of beta carotene. Remember that I'm talking about beta carotene and NOT vitamin A.

There's a difference between vitamin A and beta-carotene. If you are not familiar with what I'm talking about, I recommend you read this.

I find it interesting that this is happening, but I also think there's a huge misunderstanding.

By now you probably understand the importance of diet and food in relation to your skin and your acne. Whatever you put in your mouth, your body is going to have to deal with because different foods react differently in your system.

Some foods that you eat will have more of a cleansing effect on your body while other foods may have a "building" effect. It's sort of like yin and yang, light and dark, one cannot exist without the other and it's important to have both in your diet.

When you consume proper foods and nutrients, you keep your body healthy, free of negatives but more importantly, you give it the necessary ingredients it needs to function optimally.

This rule is very important in the long term. If you want acne free skin and even more than that, a healthy pure body, you definitely want to adhere to this rule. Balancing cleansing and building foods is absolutely essential for all aspects of your health, not just clear skin.

Found this cool video about removing black and white heads without having to squeeze your nose or use any inexpensive products.

It's actually a pretty creative idea and it works quite well. I might try it myself and post a video with my own results but if you've tried it please post in the comments below about your experience!

It's important to remember that the amount of EFAs that you may need may drastically differ from the person standing next to you. That's one of the reason why I don't like giving exact "prescriptions" out of what to take of what it is that you're taking.

What might work for you might not work for somebody else.

However, what I can do is recommend a general range for the average person with acne to start with and you can calibrate from there with a dosage that you feel would be best for you.

So for those of you just starting off and still experimenting, I recommend trying this...

What I like most about making an OOOMMMelet is that, after it's complete, to outsiders, it may seem like an elaborate meal that took time and skill to prepare when it reality, we just had to chop a bunch of things up and throw them in some partially cooked eggs =).

Well... they're great because not only are they easy to make but they're also good for you. Omelets can contain healthy sources of protein, vegetables, fiber, and best of all they don't spike your blood sugar level.

Just when you thought you had found another way to circumvent the "no sugar" rule I have something to tell you: Sugar substitutes are bad for you.

If you've read my previous posts about not being able to eat sugar and now you're trying to find a loophole with sugar substitutes I have some bad news: these guys are even worse.

In fact, they are POISON. All sugar substitute production should be shut down and never allowed to walk the earth again!

How many of you just felt a pain in your chest when you read that line? Don't be shy, you can go ahead an admit it. I sure did. Believe it or not, I used to have a huge sweet tooth.
